The Life of Romance as Told by Funny T Shirts
Picture yourself walking down the street with your friend and both of you are wearing vintage t shirts and the first girls you see are impressed with the fact your shirt says, “The A-Team.” There you are, a decidedly obvious nobody, and she likes the fact that your shirt shows that you like vintage television shows. This is all you need to break the ice and start discussing other common likes, not to mention setting up the first date.
A new relationship is begun, all over a couple of funny vintage t shirts. It was definitely worth the money because the commercials are right, a girlfriend can be found just by exhibiting some “star” quality. Maybe the shirts were not meant to be funny but she was grinning from ear to ear over it and the great abs she saw underneath that tight funny t shirt.
Next thing on the agenda: your new girlfriend wants you to meet the parents. Yep, it is time to search through all those funny t shirts to find the perfect one that will impress the family members. With your sense of humor holding strong, the first shirt you see says, “Weekday Warrior” and this will impress because it shows a work ethic. The family will be sold on you, but before you get out of the online store, another shirt catches your eye. It says, “Broke” showing the character from the Monopoly game with his hands out and so are the empty pockets. You simply cannot resist.
The purchase is made and the day comes for you to wear the shirt and meet the parents. The mom laughs when she sees the shirt but the dad is less than impressed. Her father goes into another room and puts on his t shirt. It says, “Miami Vice” and now you know the entire family is down with your humor. Big smiles everywhere and you decide to propose marriage when you take her home. The girlfriend goes into her bedroom and comes out wearing a shirt that says, “One Tough Cookie” and she smiles. The answer for now is “no” but maybe in a few months the answer will change. You are up for the shirt she will wear the day she says “yes”.
A couple of months go by and you pick up your girlfriend. She is now wearing a t shirt that says, “Burger King” on it. She is speaking your language. You both hop into the car and go off to get a burger. The language of the funny t shirt phenomenon is now your pride and joy. You have a suitcase full of shirts and both you and she have forgotten all about asking where to go now. You simply take out a shirt and there it is the place to go. You both were trying to decide what movie to see and scary were one idea. Okay, the shirt comes out that says, “Ghost Busters”; time to see a scary movie.
